Aspire Aviation is a Long Island flight school competing for student pilots in one of the densest Northeast training markets in the United States. The current engagement focuses on a website rebuild and a discovery-flight-led conversion funnel for Long Island and inner-NYC intent. The rebuild structure is shipped — dedicated funnels per certificate stage, mobile-first discovery flight booking, LocalBusiness schema tied to the home airport — but detailed ranking and traffic metrics are still in flight as the new site cycles through a full ranking window. This case study will be refreshed with verified GSC and analytics numbers once that window closes.

The challenge
What Aspire Aviation needed to solve
Aspire Aviation was competing for Part 61 and Part 141 student pilots against larger, better-funded Northeast academies serving the same Long Island and NYC metro catchment. The existing site spoke to pilots who already knew the school rather than new student pilots researching discovery flights and instrument-rating upgrades, and the discovery-flight booking path was buried behind a generic 'contact us' form that mixed admin requests with serious training enquiries.

How the engagement was delivered
Discovery
Mapped the Long Island and NYC student pilot journey from first Google search through discovery flight to instrument rating, and identified the discovery flight booking as the single highest-intent action on the site.
Rebuild
Designed a dedicated discovery flight landing page with pricing transparency, aircraft detail, and a single mobile-first booking step. Rebuilt separate funnels for Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, and Commercial upgrades so each student lands on a page written for their actual stage.
Local SEO
Targeted 'discovery flight Long Island', 'flight school NYC' and suburb-level intake terms across the Nassau and Queens catchment. Added LocalBusiness and Course schema tied to the home airport.
Content cadence
Launched a student-facing content hub covering medical certification, hours cost realism, and instrument-rating decision points, each linked internally into the matching intake page.
Timeline
Week 1–5: discovery and discovery flight funnel rebuild. Week 6–10: local SEO foundation and LocalBusiness schema. Month 3 onward: monthly student-focused content publishing.
